CLOUDY WEATHER POSTPONES ATLAS 5 ROCKET LAUNCH

The local weather conditions at Cape Canaveral kept the Atlas 5 rocket on
the launch pad today, postponing this mission to deploy the SBIRS GEO-1
missile warning satellite until Saturday at 2:10 p.m. EDT (1810 GMT).

NASA MOVES ENDEAVOUR LAUNCH DATE TO MAY 16

Launch of the shuttle Endeavour, grounded April 29 by an electrical glitch
in the ship's hydraulic system, will be delayed until at least May 16
pending additional troubleshooting and repairs, NASA managers said Friday.

ASTEROID SCHEILA AWAKENED BY COLLISION

Last year's brightening and outbursting of 112 kilometre-wide asteroid
Scheila was likely sparked by a collision with a much smaller asteroid,
say astronomers studying data from NASA's Swift and Hubble space
telescopes.
