[BAA-ebulletin 00904] Advance Notice for the Summer Meeting on 2nd July 2016 in York

BAA electronic bulletin

We are delighted to let you know that the Summer Meeting on Saturday July
2nd 2016 will be in York,  Priory Street Centre, 15 Priory Street, York,
YO1 6ET. Full details are now available on the BAA web page with all the
details for the day.

There will be an entry charge of £5 for BAA members, members of BAA
affiliated societies, and under 16s. The entry charge for non-members will
be £7.50. This includes refreshments throughout the day, but does not
include lunch.

The venue is close to York city centre, and there are lots of eating places
nearby which serve sandwiches, snacks and hot food.

The programme line up is: -

Prof. Sean Paling:
*Deep Underground Science at Boulby Mine: The Search for Dark Matter &

Dr Giles Hammond, Glasgow: *Advanced LIGO & Gravitational Wave Astronomy*

Mr Harley Katz, Cambridge: *Galaxy Formation and Evolution - Theory vs.
Observation*


* Details may be subject to alteration.*
If you are considering coming for an extended stay in York we recommend
booking into one of the many hotels or B&B as soon as possible because York
is popular with tourists.
